This is as good as it gets when it comes to increasing the overall power of an already formidable sports car. Porsche offers this option kit on their 911 Carrera S and Carrera 4S. The X51 Carrera Power Kit offers a boost to horsepower and torque, and for an additional $17,000, you can have this option for your very own. Granted, when a new 911 Carrera 4S comes standard with a $90,000 base price, the extra 17 grand may not seem like much. For about the same cost as a sizable down payment on a house, the X51 Carrera Power Kit provides a one-fifth of a second faster acceleration from 0-60 m.p.h., among a few other options, such as upgraded exhaust and power distribution. The Carrera 4S with a standard configuration will already take you from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds, but then again, if you're buying a car like the Porsche for the performance, that .2 seconds difference may make all the difference in the world.
Lexus LS 600h L Executive Seating Package II
When the car you're driving has a base price of $104,000, it's easy to understand spending another $16,000 on new car sticker options. While the Lexus LS 600h hybrid is a masterpiece of technological innovation as is, the Executive Seating Package II only adds to the car's impressive resume. This options package adds a number of technological marvels to the new car options. One of the most impressive and useful of these features is the Advance Parking Guidance System. This system will, at the touch of a button, perform the complex task of parallel parking your $100,000 hybrid work of art. All the driver needs to do is find the space, and tap the brake when necessary. The Executive Seating Package also offers the Collision Avoidance System, which uses radar to detect an unavoidable collision, and reacts faster than the driver, preparing the brakes to be applied, and pre-tightening the seat belts. For only $9,600, it includes a few more down to earth options, such as Lane Departure Assistance, and a nearly 10gb media player, along with Navigation and other features such as the Rear-view Monitoring system which allows you to always know where your rear end is. It's always handy to know how close your $60,000 car is to the barrier when you back into your reserved parking space.
Whether you want the top of the line hybrid or a more manageable Infiniti, the important part of knowing which options you should buy on your car is to research what you really need. All the options in the world won't help you if you happen to miss one that you need. After all, it doesn't do any good to have a navigation system if you never go anywhere. If your commute is only 5 minutes, and you never travel for pleasure, you probably don't need a five-thousand dollar entertainment system in your car.
